    NEWater Demineralized Water Plant:

    Demineralization is the process of removing mineral salts from water by the use of ion exchange. Demineralized water, also known as deionized water, is water in which mineral ions have been removed. Cations of mineral ions such as sodium, calcium, iron, and copper and anions such as chlorides, sulfates, and nitrates are common ions in water. Demineralization technology is a proven water treatment process.

    NEWater DM water systems are based on ion exchange, degassing, and polishing.

    Demineralized Water Filter System

    For many laboratory and industrial applications, high purity water that is essentially free of ionic contaminants is required. This quality of water can be produced by deionization. The two most common types of deionization in NEWater Demineralization Water Plants are twin bed deionization and mixed bed deionization.

    We offer two basic types of resins for Demineralisation Water Plants – cation exchange resins and anion exchange resins. Cation exchange resins will release hydrogen (H+) ions or other positively charged ions to exchange for impurity cations present in the water. The anion exchange resin will release hydroxyl (OH-) ions or other negatively charged ions to exchange for impurity anions present in the water.

    Anion and cation resins

    NEWater two-bed deionizers consist of two vessels – one containing a cation exchange resin in the form of hydrogen (H+) and the other containing an anion resin in the form of hydroxyl groups (OH-). Water flows through the cation column, whereupon all the cations are exchanged for hydrogen ions.

    In a mixed bed deionizer, the cation exchange resin and the anion exchange resin are closely mixed and contained in a single pressure vessel. The thorough mixing of cation and anion exchange agents in a single column makes the mixed bed deioniser equivalent to a lengthy series of two-bed units. As a result, the water quality obtained from the mixed-bed deioniser is significantly higher than that produced by the two-bed plant.

    NEWater deionization EDI systems remove ions from the water stream, often in combination with reverse osmosis (RO) and other purification equipment. Our high-quality deionization modules consistently produce up to 18.2MW/cm of ultrapure water, while the EDI can be operated continuously or intermittently.
