Over the last two decades, we have been in operation, and we have developed a myriad of distinct industrial evaporation equipment. Our product range is inspired by our commitment to providing comprehensive solutions to our customers’ evaporation and concentration needs. Here are some of our top-rated industrial evaporators.

    ● Falling film evaporators.

    Falling film evaporators are industrial evaporators designed to concentrate solutions and/or alienate elements with distinct boiling points from a solution. They are particularly suited for heat-sensitive elements characterized by a low-scaling effect. The incoming solution is injected from the evaporator’s top before it is uniformly distributed in the tubes. Falling film evaporators are typically used in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and starch industries.

    ● Forced circulation evaporators.

    Forced circulation evaporators are evaporation units reliant on natural circulation, which occurs as a result of discrepancies in density caused by heating. They are also referred to as natural circulation evaporators and are made of circulation pumps, heat exchangers, and evaporators. Forced circulation evaporators are tolerant to clogging and can be used with suspended matter. They are ideal for crystallizers, waste streams, and viscous fluids.

    Figure 2 Forced circulation evaporator.

    ● Rising film evaporators.

    Rising film evaporators are made of heat exchangers and vapor-liquid separators. The heat exchangers are essentially vertical shell tubes.  The solution is injected from the bottom of the tubes while a heating medium provides heat to the shell’s side. This generates vapor from the feed solution consequently lifting the lid. The liquid and vapor mixture is then separated at the separator.

    ● Multi-effect evaporators.

    Multi-effect evaporators are evaporation apparatuses that utilize the heat from steam to convert water or other solvents into vapor. They are typically made of several vessels, which are commonly known as effects.

    ● Plate evaporators.

    Plate evaporators are commonly referred to as frame evaporators. They are primarily made of plate and frame heat exchangers. They are easy to clean and require low headroom. We manufacture compact plate evaporators characterized by good heat transfer. They are most suited for deodorization, stripping applications, and monomer removal from polymers.  We also manufacture;

    • Thermal vapor recompression evaporators.
    • Mechanical vapor recompression evaporators.
    • Long tube vertical evaporators.

    How Do Industrial Evaporators Function?

    Industrial water evaporators generally function by employing the evaporation process. Evaporation is a process that transforms liquids such as water into vapor. As such, industrial evaporators exploit various heating mediums to initiate the evaporation process, which separates liquids constituents from solids. However, the precise evaporation process employed by distinct industrial evaporators can be dissimilar. For illustration purposes, we are going to walk you through the separation process accomplished by industrial evaporators in wastewater treatment.

    The wastewater meant to be treated is first driven into a treatment tank before the feed pump pumps the wastewater feed into the industrial evaporator. In automatic systems, this is accomplished by an auto-fill system while in manual systems, the feed pump is activated using a toggle switch. A heating medium generates heat to boil the feed until vapor forms. Water, which has a comparatively low boiling point, turns into vapor leaving solid waste behind. Once the water has evaporated, the system transmits a signal to indicate that the residue needs to be emptied.

    Subsequently, the air is pumped into the wastewater evaporator vessel using a blower. This aids the heating process and displaces the water vapor. For industrial evaporators with external steam sources like boilers, a compressor is mandatory. The compressors aid the vaporization process. The frequently utilized compressors are axial, displacement, and centrifugal compressors.

    After compression, pollutants such as oil are extracted using the mist eliminator. Typical mist eliminators are manufactured using non-corrosive material and can automatically clean themselves. The vaporized water is then funneled into the condenser where it turns back into a liquid state. The video below illustrates how mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) evaporators function.

    What Does an Industrial Evaporator Do?

    Industrial evaporators are versatile systems with an extensive range of practical applications. Primarily, they are used in liquid-solid separation by facilitating evaporation. They are widely used in distinct industries to accomplish different roles. Wastewater evaporators are used as supplemental wastewater treatment systems. They alienate suspended matter, dissolved solids, and other impurities from industrial effluent.

    Industrial evaporators also offer practical water treatment solutions. They remove objectionable contaminants like microorganisms, dissolved solids, organic compounds, and minerals from feed water. They are viable water treatment solutions for seawater, tap water, brackish water, and groundwater. In addition, industrial evaporators are used in the food industry to extract excessive amounts of water. Our diverse pool of industrial evaporators plays pivotal roles in the following industries;

    • Liquor industry etc.

    Figure 4 Food industry evaporator.

    What Are the Chief Components of Industrial Evaporators?

    Industrial evaporators are manufactured distinctively using different materials and designs. However, all standard industrial evaporators are made of four primary components. Customized evaporators may have additional components that supplement the primary components. Let us look at each primary component and the distinct roles it plays.

    ● Heating section.

    A heating section holds the heating medium, which provides heat to initiate the evaporation process. industrial evaporators can have different heating mediums but the most popularly used include electricity-powered, solar-powered, and fuel-powered heating mediums. Typical heating mediums are made of plates, coils, or parallel tubes. Plate-frame or coil heating mediums are made from aluminum or copper.

    ● The separator.

    The separation section accommodates a separator, which alienates the produced steam from the feed solution.

    ● Condenser.

    Ideally, the condenser turns the produced vapor into liquid. The vapor from the separator or concentrating section is funneled into the condenser, which consists of fans that chill the vapor resulting in the formation of a liquid. The commonly utilized condensers in industrial evaporators are;

    • Surface condensers.
    • Indirect condensers.
    • Barometric/ direct-contact condensers.

    ● Pump.

    The circulation pump generates the pressure needed to facilitate circulation. The majority of circulation pumps are technically axial flow pumps. Additionally, they help minimize the scaling of tubes during evaporation by maintaining a decent velocity.

    Back to the guide ⇪

    Can Industrial Evaporators Use Solar Energy?

    Yes. Separating liquids from solids in industries or treating industrial effluent using industrial evaporators has always been effective and convenient. However, the burden of heavy electrical bills accrued when using industrial evaporators has been lessened thanks to the incorporation of solar energy. Although this technology is still being developed, more and more industries are venturing into solar evaporation.

    The latest technology in solar energy utilization entails the use of thermo-solar systems. These systems convert solar radiation from the sun into thermal energy. Thermal energy is consequently used to power industrial processes like evaporation. Additionally, the use of solar panels and photovoltaics that absorb and convert solar radiation into electricity is still operational. This technique is mainly popular in solar desalination systems like seawater distillation systems.

    Thermo-solar systems collect thermal power from optical devices such as mirrors and lenses. The optical devices then seize and concentrate the radiation on receptors. At the same time, there is a liquid that moves through the receptors. It consequently heats up before it is passed through heat exchangers to generate thermal power.
