NEWater Membrane Pressure Vessels
Our Membrane Pressure Vessels are manufactured with optimum strength in mind. The vessels are composed of fiberglass fiber that is bound with epoxy resin, allowing the vessel to withstand high levels of pressure that are associated with the reverse osmosis process.
The resin is cured at high temperatures to ensure durability and our Membrane Pressure Vessels are molded in such a way to ensure a smooth interior to prevent any resistance to the flow of the fluid within. They are also painted white, this helps in the reduction of the transmission of light by vessel, discouraging the growth of biological matter and algae in it.
Water undergoes screening, coagulation, and flocculation, and finally sedimentation to ensure that the water that enters these vessels does not clog it or damage the membranes. These processes are essential in the removal of larger impurities from the raw water being pumped from the source.
The reverse osmosis water treatment process is conducted by pressurizing the water and pushing it into the Membrane Pressure Vessels. The water overcomes its natural osmotic potential and flows down its osmotic gradient from a lower water potential to higher water potential, in the process causing impurities to be caught in the partially permeable membranes.
The treated water passes through for post-treatment or directly for usage in application areas. Post treatments may include ultraviolet radiation or carbon filtration to ensure removal of microbial organisms and pathogens, and to remove unwanted odors and tastes from the water.
Our Membrane Pressure Vessels have undergone stringent testing to qualify for the requirements set by ASME boiler and pressure vessel code requirements, specifically section X. Ensuring that our Membrane Pressure Vessels can withstand high temperature and pressures.
